Holding outdoor activities as far from solar noon as possible. For example, activities held at 10.30 will still experience high UV levels, but they won’t be as strong as UV levels at 12 noon. Having a longer morning break, and shorter lunch break.

Scheduling the morning tea break a little later, so that lunch can also be held a later during the day. This allows breaks to occur on either side of solar noon. Eating lunch together as a class indoors or in the shade.  When organising excursion activities, consideration to UV levels can be incorporated to avoid times near solar noon.
